Inclement Weather Alert – FAQ's and How to "Double Up"


WHY IS PICK UP CANCELED?

If our drivers cannot safely operate our fleet, service may be canceled in some areas or in extreme cases, all areas. Some areas might have better conditions and others could be unsafe. This decision is based on Safety, our #1 value at Murrey’s. Our highly experienced Operation Management Team begin checking road conditions in the very early morning hours before making decisions to delay or cancel service.

WHEN WILL MY GARBAGE, RECYCLE/YARD WASTE BE PICKED UP?

Collection of material that has been missed due to inclement weather and unsafe road conditions will be collected on the next scheduled pick up day at no additional charge. Garbage will be collected the following week and recycle or yard waste will be collected two weeks from date of the missed pick up, weather permitting.

HOW DO I “DOUBLE UP”?

If your garbage is missed due to inclement weather, please place out the equivalent of one week's service in 32-gallon tied bags next to your garbage cart on the next scheduled collection day.

If your recycle is missed due to inclement weather, please place out the equivalent of your bi-weekly service in a larger cardboard box next to your recycle cart on the next scheduled collection day. Please do not bag recycle material.

If your yard waste is missed due to inclement weather, please place out the equivalent of your bi-weekly service in biodegradable bags next to your yard waste cart on the next scheduled collection day.

Please do not use personal cans or totes.

CAN I RECEIVE A CREDIT FOR THE MISSED PICK UP?

No. We are not able to credit due to snow delays. All customers will still receive the equivalent monthly service that they are subscribed to.
